How to get rid of Termites in Forster?
Sydney (Greater) Region is located in the state of New South Wales.
Im based in Sydney, but I also have a property in Forster, and lately Ive been worried about termites. Ive heard they can be a big problem in coastal areas because of the warm, humid climate. Im not sure what the best approach is whether to try DIY methods like bait stations or call in professionals right away.
For anyone whos dealt with termites in Forster or Sydney, what worked best for you? Did you use preventative measures, treatments, or both? Any tips on spotting them early would be really helpful before the damage gets bad.
Thanks in advance!

Termites are definitely a bigger concern in coastal towns like Forster and Sydney because the warmer, more humid conditions are perfect for them. The key is to catch them early and act fast.
Here’s what usually works best:
Identify the type – Subterranean termites are the most common in NSW, but you can also get Drywood or Dampwood. Knowing the type determines the right treatment.
Look for signs – Mud tubes along walls, hollow-sounding timber, discarded wings, or piles of tiny droppings (frass).
Reduce attractants – Keep timber away from the house, fix leaks, and make sure gutters and downpipes are clear.
Small infestations – Bait stations or orange oil can work for minor issues.
Serious cases – Non-repellent liquid treatments or heat methods are usually the most effective.
For bigger infestations, I’d strongly recommend calling a licensed pest control company. When I had termites in Sydney, I got a full inspection and treatment from Bugs or Us Pest Control (0490 454 644) — they handled the removal and gave me prevention tips for both properties so I don’t have to deal with it again.
